Placental Encapsulation
Placental encapsulation is the process of dehydrating the placenta following your birth, grinding it up and putting it into capsules for you to consume after the birth of your baby. There are many benefits to this practice, and I highly recommend it to all women to help them cope with the immediate post-partum period.
Some benefits of placental encapsulation include:
- Increased milk supply
- Decreased risk of post-partum depression
- Improved mood
- Decreased risk of anemia as the placenta is loaded with iron and increases a woman’s supply. This can be especially important if there was a lot of bleeding during labor.
- Increased energy
If you are interested in learning more about the process or benefits of placental encapsulation, please call Dr. Martin for a free 15 minute consultation during your pregnancy. The cost for this service is $200, and she will pick up the placenta from you and deliver the capsules the next day with proper dosing instructions.
