Meet The Team

Dr. Lara Martin Balanced Family Natural Medicine 2Dr. Lara Martin is a naturopathic physician practicing primary care at Balanced Family Natural Medicine. She graduated from Pacific University with a B.S. in cell/molecular biology. She then took a few years off to work as a medication aid in an assisted living facility which is where she discovered a passion for naturopathic medicine. As she was pushing pills to her patients with Alzheimers she thought there had to be a better option. After doing a little research, she discovered this amazing medicine and hasn’t looked back. Dr. Martin earned her doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine (now known as National University of Natural Medicine) located in Portland, OR. Her training included a rigorous internship in cardiopulmonary medicine and an externship in midwifery at a birth center.

Lara uses various modalities to help you achieve your health goals including; nutrition, homeopathy, botanicals, and pharmaceutical medication when needed. Her main areas of interest include women’s health, pediatrics, fertility, midwifery, pre-conception counseling, and health during pregnancy and in the immediate postpartum period.

Lara and her husband moved to Hillsboro in 2012 to be closer to his work at Intel. They have since adopted a puppy and had two boys. Lara loves being able to raise her family here and looks forward to sharing her passion for naturopathic medicine and natural childbirth with the people of this community.
